Celebrating the Season…Honoring Self

December 3, 2023 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm EST

The Baton Foundation will host a virtual expressive arts workshop to help center us during the holiday season. This program is free to the public, but registration is required.

About the Workshop

With the holiday season upon us and a new year just weeks away, this virtual expressive arts workshop will encourage participants to reflect on 2023 and take stock of and nurture self.

Despite the challenges we might face and regardless of the turmoil around us, it is important to focus on our innate strengths and to ground oneself in the knowledge that all is well. Dr. Wendy Phillips will employ guided expressive arts techniques that will aid each participant in her or his journey to self-expression and healing.

Please wear comfortable clothes and bring paper, chalk, crayons, colored pencils, play dough or paints–whatever materials you would like to work with. You will be able to participate with your camera off or on and there is never any pressure on anyone to actively engage with the group. At the end of the session, the group will reflect on what has been expressed, discovered, and experienced.

Should you have questions about the workshop beforehand, you may call Dr. Phillips at 404-798-1061.

About Expressive Arts

In each session, and as one participates, s/he explores a variety of materials and activities. The expressive arts have been defined as supporting a process of self-discovery and self-expression, as a way to connect with one’s creative self, and also as a way to find tranquility and or achieve emotional release.
